Your privacy is respected, as a moderately paranoid (well some would say terminally paranoid) individual I hate providing anyone with my personal information. This site does not use cookies, or any third party tracking bugs, images or anything else. Any information collected on these pages will only be used for the purposes of maintaining the site. In simple words:
- Your personal information will not be shared with anyone except to comply with the law, develop our products, or protect our rights.
- Your personal information will not be stored unless required for the on-going operation of the site.
Below is our privacy policy in legal verbiage which incorporates these goals: (Note, this policy is blatantly copied from http://http://automattic.com/privacy/ they decided to their privacy policy available under a Creative Commons Sharealike license, which means they asked me to steal it. That means you are more than welcome to steal it too. Just make sure to replace references to Writeblocked with ones to you.

Website Visitors
Like most website operators, Writeblocked collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Writeblocked’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Writeblocked’s visitors use its website. From time to time, Writeblocked may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.
Writeblocked also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments on pages and Directory entries. Writeblocked only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below.
Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information
Certain visitors to Writeblocked’s websites choose to interact with Writeblocked in ways that require Writeblocked to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that Writeblocked gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. Writeblocked collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with Writeblocked. Writeblocked does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

Writeblocked may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. For instance, Writeblocked may monitor the most popular pages on the site. Writeblocked may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, Writeblocked does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.
Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information
Writeblocked is a one-man band so personally-identifying and personally-identifying information is displayed only to Mike. The only time PII may be provided to a third party is in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when Writeblocked believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Writeblocked, third parties or the public at large. If you are a registered user of an Writeblocked website and have supplied your email address, Writeblocked may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with Writeblocked and our products. I primarily use the blog to communicate this type of information, so this type of email will be kept to a minimum. Writeblocked uses cookies to help Writeblocked identify and track visitors, their usage of Writeblocked website, and their website access preferences. Your continued use of this site after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.
